I have been broken. Utterly and Completely broken. It takes a situation, or event, in your life, in which you have absolutely no control for you to realize that it is God’s. I have been placed in a situation of this sort, and only the Word brings me comfort in this time.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

I am brokenhearted, and I am truly crushed in spirit. The hard thing is realizing that the LORD is close to me, when I feel so far away. I have no control, or say. I am just a participant, but only if GOD, or the other players want me to be. Looking on from the sidelines has to be one of the most painful things that I have ever done. I need prayer, and lots of it. I feel as if I am at my wits end. It will be impossible for me to continue in this of my own strength. I am going to have to continue using GOD’s strength, something that I should have done from the begining. I know GOD is good, and I need to trust him. After all, he is the creator of all things.

I will start with this. A few friends and I just got done watching Jackass Number Two(this is obviously the sequel to the first one). And I dont really know what to say. All I can really say, is that in comparison, what we did, meaning myself and group of friends(which incluse Nate, by the way) what we did in High school was girly, pansy crap compared to what these put themselves through. Im just Thank full that I am still alive.

Feels like a lifetime.

Wow, its been just over 3 months since the death of my father. It seemed like it was just yesterday that I received the most horrific phone call of my life, but it wasn’t. That was the most wild rollercoaster ride of my life. Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning, it all seemed like it was a bad dream, like it wasn’t real. I’ll tell myself that it wasn’t real, that there is no way that my Father died. It’s hard some days, but then all I have to do is remember all the great times that I had with him, and that I had/have with my family. Also, having the great friends that I have, helps a lot. I’m talking about the people I have here with me in Colorado, the Family I have in Nebraska, and last, but not least the great people of Ames, Iowa. You all have been great, thank you for all your support. My father was a great man, a great Father, and a great Marine.

Keep the word in your heart.

Wow, last night was awsome. There was a competition of epic proportions that went on last night for nearly 2 and a 1/2 hours. The Ft. Collins ‘Rock’ vs. The Greeley ‘O2′ in a battle of who knows the most bible verses. My church, the Greeley church, has been doing a program called ‘Memory Madness.’ It was a program designed to help younger children learn and memorize bible passages, but it a profound impact on our whole church. Now, anyone from 3 years of age, to the oldest person in our church can be apart of this program. Sadly, I have not taken advantage of this program, I am a bum. I have no excuse, because all the good ones are taken already.

Anyway, last night (by the way, last night is Friday, December 1) was definately a night to remember. The Ft. Collins ‘Rock’ did end up beating The Greeley ‘O2′ with a score of 160 to a score of 150. The last 15 minutes of the competition where definately the most tense.

I have no real lesson, or thoughts, or even any complaints. I know, it is very hard to believe. I just want to say, that if you have the opportunity to take advantage of such a program, that you should take advantage of it. It will help you keep Gods perfect word close to your Heart.

Ahhh, the media, it gives us all sorts of stuff that we dont normally get in our dull boring 9 to 5 day. No, this post is not about the media, although i could go on for pages about screwed up it is, and it can go fornicate itself with a hot iron stick for all I care, but that is still not the point.

The point for today, is just how awsome a day can be. Even though I just finished up my finals for my 4th quarter of school today, yes, i had a final on saturday, that the day can still be a good one. Something else that I believe is worthy of mention, is the fact that I survived speaking to our whole college group here at o2 in Greeley. I do not like speaking in front of people, but it needed to be done, and I was willing to do it. For those that really care, I will try to post up the audio from it right here on my very own blog. I will warn you though, it is like 30 minutes long, so be prepared if you care that much about it.

So, I wanted to be able to post a “Song of the Day”, just for fun right, turns out, “for security sake” wordpress only allows imbedded links from youtube, and google video, and all that jazz. I can’t upload a song from my personal library and have you guys listen to it. Oh well, I’ll try to find a way around this.

I must say, that I am most thankful that one of my most dreaded times of year is finally over. That time of year, is the Gosh Darn election year. All those terrible smear campaigns, and witless banter that is provided by the candidates themselves, and their mindless drone followers. Here is the catch, though, now that the amazing time of elections is over, you guessed it, IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME! Oh yes, businesses have already begun to set up for the Christmas shopping season, and only 47 days before the actual day itself. Isn’t it wonderful that we can begin to celebrate the glorious birth of commercial-ism, and revel in the fact that we whore ourselves out to irrational consumer-ism every year. Ah yes, how I miss the excitement of Fist-Fighting over the last tickle-me Elmo in the store. You see, I am full of Christmas Cheer already.

Fall Retreat

Over the weekend of October 27th to the 29th, O2 church, in Greeley CO had their Fall Retreat. It was an awsome time of fun, fellowship, and deep, heart felt learning experience that was held in the mountians of Colorado. We had Pat Sokoll, pastor of the Iowa City Church, that is associated with GCM ministries. He is an amazing man of God. We are trying to get all of the sessions he had with us up on our church’s website. So, I will be posting later with that info, if you would like to listen to Pat Sokoll speak to you.
